January 2020 Letter from CAPA the President

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and was able to spend time with family and friends. Christmas, Hanukah and New Year’s will be here before we know it! It was wonderful to kick off the holiday season with our Panhellenic sisters and good friends at our Holiday Happening.

The evening was a huge success! Many thanks to Carol Hacker- Pi Beta Phi, Linda Barath-Theta Phi Alpha, Karen Erlenbach-Zeta Tau Alpha, and our Ways and Means and Social committees for putting together an extraordinary event.

We had 128 paid registrations and each registration included a $5 donation to the endowment fund ($640). After PayPal fees the Wine Pull raised $688.30 and the Silent Auction brought in $1,054. While there are still some fundraising expenses to be paid for this income it is easy to see that we exceeded our fundraising goal of $1,500 and started a great new Panhellenic pre-holiday tradition.

Speaking of Panhellenic generosity-thank you to everyone for your contributions to during our November collection for Jordan Community Resource Center. Your kindness will help make the holidays season more comfortable and enjoyable for the residents of Jordan CRC as they go through the recovery process. Thank you to community service Chairs Katie Keane-Chi Omega and Wendy Stummer-Delta Delta Delta for planning the program at to committee members Leslie Cooke-Delta Gamma and Susie Winter-Alpha Xi Delta for transporting the donations to Jordan CRC.

Looking forward to the New Year and sharing many more good times with my Panhellenic sisters!

Alison Borodkin, CAPA President
