February 2018 Letter from the CAPA President

Happy February to my fellow Panhellenic sisters!  I hope those of you who attended the Happy Hour at Melt on January 25 had a fantastic time – I know I did!  It was wonderful to see so many Greek women gathered together. We had a great turnout, welcoming several new faces who have not attended CAPA events in the past.

A very special Thank You to Jennifer Bufe, Kathy Imbler and Alison Borodkin for their help planning and executing the event.

We officially announced the 2018 CAPA Scholarship Luncheon at the Happy Hour, and I hope you will all be attending! It will be held on May 19, 2018 at the Woodside Event Center at St. Michael’s in Broadview Heights. There will be social time to look at the Raffle Baskets and Silent Auction items from 10:30-11:30am and the luncheon will begin at 11:30am.

We are very excited to welcome this year’s guest speaker, Dr. Mary Ellen Weber, a Phi Mu Alumnae and a former NASA Astronaut.  She will be telling her story about her experience as a Sorority Woman and how it led her to outer space. She is a nationally acclaimed speaker and we are thrilled to be welcoming her to this year’s luncheon.

Also, March 5, 2018 is International Badge Day. Please try to remember to wear your badge that day whether you are working, running errands or having an event with your sisters. It is a great way to show your Greek Pride and hopefully illicit questions about your experiences as a sorority woman.

Our next CAPA meeting is on Tuesday, February 13 at noon in the Board Room on the 3rd Floor of the AAA Building in Independence.  Remember, ALL are welcome – regardless of whether you are a delegate, alternate or an interested Greek woman:) I hope to see you there!
